Undo/redo
These two buttons allow you to instantly undo your last edit or redo and go back to the instance before the change. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard command Ctrl+Z or Command+Z (Mac).
Text style
Three options of text styling are available here:
- Paragraph: designed in general for body text
- Code: intended for any programming language or piece of code
- Four headline styles
Font type and size
You can choose the font you like and apply size to it.
Bold, italic, strikethrough & underline
To apply any of these options to a block of your text, either press the button in the Editor corresponding to the style or use the keyboard shortcuts:
- Bold: Ctrl/cmd + B
- Italic: Ctrl/cmd + I
- Strikethrough: Ctrl/cmd + D
- Underline: Ctrl/cmd + U
Text alignment
It is naturally possible to align text to the left, center, or to right.
Lists
Contractbook editor has two listing options: ordered list and bullet-point list. Both work in the same way:
- Press enter for the next number/bullet
- Press tab to move in (for example from 1 to 1.1)
- Press tab + shift to move out (for example from 1.1 to 1)
- Press shift + enter to add extra space between points without creating a new one
Editable field
Editable fields are particularly useful for data inputs that are likely to change from one contract to another such as name, salary, dates, any personal details.
To add an editable field, find and highlight the text you would like to become editable. Alternatively, you can just place your cursor at the place you want the editable field to appear.β Then press the editable field icon in the Editor:

Formula
The Formula icon in Contractbook editor provides you a simple spreadsheet function in fields, except for the editable fields.
βTo create a formula field press the formula icon and assign the following attributes to it: Name, Format, Value, or formula.
Table
You can choose how many rows and columns you want the table to have and then fill in text or paste any pre-existing one from an external document. Tables can be added in both drafts and templates.
If you click or select text anywhere within a table a new drop-down menu will appear under the table icon in the editor (at the top of the body text in your document). You can use this menu to manipulate the table or delete a table format that is no longer needed:
Hint: If you want to add multiple tables one after another in the body text of your draft or template, make sure to leave some extra empty space between them. This way you will, later on, be able to preserve a clickable section between the tables and use it to make any changes outside of the table's boxes.
Checkbox
Using this icon, you can add checkboxes to your contracts.
Attachments
Using this icon, you can add attachments within the body text of your contract. The following formats are accepted: .pdf, .jpg, .png, .doc, and .docx.
