What is a lookup table and how can I use it in my automations?

A lookup table is a table that acts as a "set of rules" and you can use it to look up a key value in exchange for its identifier from an external application, or any of our internal triggers and actions.

The lookup table's application in Contractbook No Code Automation Builder is to transform the variable value using a custom set of table entries defined by you in the Transform Data action configuration.

How to use Transform Data action in Contractbook Automation Builder?

The new action in our Automation Builder Transform Data will enable you to use lookup tables to convert variable values accordingly to your use case.

You can define lookup tables for any number of variables and if the data matches one of the specific entities, the corresponding value will be used.

How can I use lookup tables in my automations?

  • With the Transform Data action in the Automation Builder, you can easily set up a fully automated workflow based on retrieving variables from HubSpot, PipedriveSalesforce, or any other CRM system and transforming them into the specific data that appears on the draft of a new contract.
  • This is just one example of how Transfor Data action in Contractbook Automation Builder can be used.
  • Another use case example is using Drafter questionnaire completed trigger, asking recipient-specific questions and depending on the answer, showing different clauses in the consequently created contract.
