How can I send private Slack messages automatically?

Can I send Slack messages to a private channel?

When using Contractbook Automation Builder to configure your automation between Slack and Contractbook, you will be only able to select Public Slack channels and Private messages to individuals.

All your private channels (the ones marked with a small keylock icon in Slack) will not be listed in the automation configuration.

If you need to send the message to a Private Slack channel, you need to do that via Zapier - here is our guidance on using the premade template, and here you can find how to set up the automation from scratch

Can I send direct Slack messages automatically?

You can choose to send the message to a private discussion with any collaborator from your Slack contacts.

This means that you can choose to send the message configured under the action step of your automation flow to a private person in Slack.
If you select to send it to a private person, the message will be sent to them in the Contractbook app. You can find it under Apps in the left-hand sidebar of Slack.

The person you want your message to be sent to needs to have the Contractbook app connected to their Slack as well:

You can connect to Contractbook app in Slack and get all private messages sent via automation directly through the application:
