This article explains how to assign, manage, and utilize admin permissions in Contractbook to empower your admin users to manage specific domains across your Contractbook company.
Admin permissions allow you to grant specific admin rights in your Company to individual users. Such admin permissions allow users to access and manage all entities of a specific type within the Company, like all users, contracts, or data field taxonomy. This lets you empower other users to manage your Contractbook account with full control and ease.
How to view and edit a user's admin permissions
You can view a user's admin permissions by navigating to the Company > Users page. In the list view of Users, the column "Permissions" gives you a quick glance at which permissions each user already has enabled at a quick glance. To edit a user's permissions, hover over the user name in the list view, click on the [...] action menu, and select "Manage permissions".

In the list of admin permissions, simply toggle specific permissions on and off and confirm your changes with the "Save changes" button at the bottom.

See below an overview of all current admin permissions and explanations of what they do.
Manage all contracts
Gives users the ability to view, fully edit, delete, share (owner-equivalent access) all contracts that were created by users in the company. If this permission is enabled for a user, he will see a new view called “Company contracts” in his Contracts page. This view shows all contracts created by members of the company. You can use the “Owned by” filter to find contracts created by specific Company members.

Replaces Team contracts: “Manage all contracts” is a powered-up equivalent to the privileges that the team owner used to have with Team contracts. But it has multiple benefits over Team contracts:
- Not just restricted to a single team owner, but can be toggled on and off for all users in the company at will.
- Allows full access to all contracts in the company, no restrictions on deleting, moving, editing contracts
- Natively embedded into the contract list view and compatible with existing filters.
Manage users
Gives users the ability to invite new users to the company, deactivate (and reactivate) existing users, and set admin permissions. Note that this is the most powerful permission, since it also allows to “manage user permissions”. A user who has this permission can toggle on or off all other permissions for himself and other users.

Manage company settings
Gives users the ability to edit input fields on the Company > Settings > Company details page. Not a ton of things to change here currently, but we might add more things in the future.

Manage subscription
Gives users the ability to view the Company > Settings > Company details page, including information on plan and usage counts/limits. Currently, the buttons here just lead to a chat window and our pricing website.

Manage data fields library
Gives users the ability to view and edit the Data fields library page

Manage AI upload contract types
This permission grants the ability to create new contract types in AI upload, and also to edit or delete existing custom contract types across the entire company. If a user does not have this permission enabled, she will still be able to use the custom contract types created in the company for uploading new contracts.
