We've introduced a more transparent and flexible way to manage your Contractbook subscription, so you only pay more when you get more value. This article walks you through what’s included in your plan, how usage is measured, and how upgrades happen

🔢 What Counts as Usage?

Usage is based on:

Signed Contracts: Every fully signed contract counts toward your annual usage.

Users: Each paid user in your team counts. (viewers are excluded)

Templates: You have a set number of active templates available based on your plan.

✉️ Contract Limits – Fair and Scalable

Your plan includes a set number of signed contracts. If you send more contracts than that number, you simply move up to the next tier. The more contracts you send, the lower the cost per contract becomes.

🔑 Key Things to Know

1. Plan types come with different usage limits and feature access. (see details below)

2. Upgrades happen only when you exceed your plan’s limits. If you reach a higher tier, you only pay for the extra usage going forward, not retroactively.

3. At renewal, you’ll continue at the highest tier reached unless you request a downgrade before your renewal date.

The Essential Plan is perfect for smaller teams or businesses getting started. It gives you everything you need to create, send and sign contracts efficiently—with the option to expand as you grow.

You can grow your Essential plan in two main ways:

1. 📄 Extra Contract Usage

Example: If you exceed 100 contracts mid-year, we’ll be in touch in due time to guide you to the next appropriate tier and make sure your plan matches your usage.

2. 👤 Extra Users

📦 Contract Usage Tiers for plans beyond Essential

Example: If you sign up for 750 contracts, you’ll get the first 350 free, and pay for the remaining 400 in two pricing tiers. (Centralise case)

🗂️ Stored Contract Limits

We also track your total stored contracts (uploaded or signed) across the lifetime of your account's lifetime. Beyond plan limits, we’ll discuss finding the custom solution for your scale.

Note: Stored contracts are counted over time—not annually. So as your archive grows, this becomes relevant.

👤 User Limits Per Plan

Each plan includes a base number of users. You can always purchase more if your team grows.

A “user” is someone explicitly invited to your company’s paid workspace in Contractbook. (Viewers are not conted as users in your plan)

🧩 Template Limits

Templates let you streamline workflows. Each plan includes a number of active templates, and you can always expand.

If you hit a contract limit mid-subscription:

• You’ll need to upgrade to the next tier. 
• We’ll reach out if you approach your usage limits, so there are no surprises.

🔁 Renewals

• You’ll renew at the highest tier used in your last term.
• Want to downgrade? Let us know before your renewal date.
