AI upload extracts data fields from your contract automatically. As part of your upload workflow, you can review these data fields and mark them as verified.
If you import contracts to Contractbook with AI upload, they will contain data fields extracted by our AI. While we aim for 100% accuracy, a human review of the data extracted is necessary to ensure your organisation trusts the insights. Source highlights in the contract text and AI-generated field descriptions make verifying extracted data fields a breeze for you.
How can I verify data fields found by AI upload?
Uploaded contracts that are not yet verified are recognisable by the purple icon in your contract list view. Data fields that are not yet verified are also color-coded in purple:
You can verify the data fields in your uploaded contracts in several ways. The most secure way is to open the contract, and review the data fields in the sidebar. You recognise data fields extracted by AI upload by the purple field icons.
Click on any data field in order to see a source highlight in the PDF body of your contract. This points you to the exact place in your uploaded contract from where our AI has extracted the data field and allows you to quickly sanity-check for correctness.
By clicking "Verify" on the right side of the data field tile you can mark this data field as verified, which will resolve the purple color coding.
Note that the source highlights remain intact even after you have marked a data field as verified. This way you can quickly find relevant contract sections again in the future by simply clicking on data fields in the sidebar.
Pro tip: Hover on the (i) icon to see an AI-generated description of how our AI has found this data field for additional context.
Verify entire contracts
If you don't want to verify each data field separately, you can verify entire contracts from your import view one by one, or all at once.
Verifying a contract has the following effects:
- It will create a timestamp in the document history to ensure a clear audit trail of who verified a given contract.
- It will reverse the purple color coding of data fields.
- It will reverse the purple icon in the contract list view and display the contract as a regular signed contract.
Congrats, your contracts are now verified, and your organization can trust them.
Next, take bulk actions on your uploaded contracts, like moving them to a contract space or creating reminder tasks based on your extracted data fields.Can I edit the parties of contracts uploaded with AI upload?
Yes. If you open the contract and click on the parties in the contract's sidebar, you can delete or edit the generated by the AI parties:
Can I build automated workflows based on verification of contracts?
Yes! You can trigger any automated workflow with the "Contract verified" trigger:
This allows you to start an automation every time an uploaded contract is fully verified. Fully verified means all data fields on the contract are verified.
In the "Only continue if step" and any following automation actions you can access all of your company's data fields to kick off a powerful automation workflow.
If the automation is created in the team owner's account, it will trigger when any team member verifies their AI-uploaded contracts.
Some simple but powerful example automations are:
- When a contract is verified, move it to the correct contract space
- When a contract is verified and contains a Renewal date, create an auto-reminder based on that renewal date.
