To add a new editable field (data input for your collaborators/recipients) in your draft, find and highlight the text you would like to become editable.
Now you need to fill in the data field's Name and Default value:
- Name: This is the ID of the editable field. If several fields share the same name, all those fields will auto-populate if you change the default value of one of them.
- Default text: This is what will appear in the editable field. If you have highlighted a piece of text when you created the editable field it will automatically appear here. If the default value is not changed the generic name of the field will be visible in the final contract.
You can press Enter or Insert to confirm the creation of the editable field.
How do I add data to Editable fields?
Once you or your recipients are ready to add data to the editable fields on a contract level, their default value will change. You can quickly jump directly to the next editable field which is available in the contract by pressing Tab on your keyboard. Keep using that command until all the editable fields are populated with the required data input.
How do I delete an editable field?
The Editable Field can be deleted in the following two ways depending on the location of your cursor:
- You can place the cursor of your mouse right after the Editable field and press Backspace afterward. This will enable you to delete the Editable Field to the left of your cursor.
- If you place your cursor right before the Editable Field, you can use the keyboard shortcut Function (FN) + Backspace instead. This will enable you to delete the Editable Field to the right of your cursor.
