Your aggregated company usage is now visible directly inside the product. In this article, we explain exactly how usage is counted and what each metric means.
Where to find your usage
You can view your Company’s current usage metrics by going to: Settings → Subscription → Usage breakdown. Here, you'll see three main usage counts:

Contracts signed

Contracts uploaded

Templates
These usage counts are aggregated across all members in your Company.
How we count usage
In short:

Contracts signed: Counted per subscription term (typically yearly), and reset on renewal.

Contracts uploaded and Templates: Counted as lifetime usage and do not reset with each renewal.
Let’s break it down:
Contracts signed (per year)
This represents contracts that have been fully signed by all parties with Contractbook's signature methods during your current subscription term. This count resets automatically at the start of each new subscription term.
We count:

Contracts fully signed during the current subscription term.

Contracts created and signed by users who were active members of your Company at the time.
We do NOT count:

Contracts created by free users (even if they use the same email domain).

Contracts created before a user joined your Company.
📥 Contracts uploaded (lifetime)
These are documents that users in your company have uploaded into Contractbook.
We count:

Any uploaded PDF contracts (via AI Import, the upload flow, automations, or API) by Company members.
We do NOT count:

Uploads by free users.
- When uploaded contracts are deleted, they are also removed from your uploaded contracts count.
Bonus clarification:

Contracts created using “Sign a PDF” do not count as uploaded contracts - they count as signed contracts instead, since they are signed with Contractbook's native signature methods.
📁 Templates (lifetime)
These are templates that are either created from scratch or uploaded for reuse.
We count:

Templates created by Company members.
We do NOT count:
-
Templates from free users.

When a template is deleted, it is also removed from your usage count.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Q: My signed contract count seems too high/low. What could be the reason?
A: Double-check if the contracts were: (a) signed during your current subscription term (b) created by active members of your Company at the time of signing.
We only include contracts that meet both criteria. If you think your subscription start date is not correct, please reach out to our support team.
Q: Do uploaded contracts and templates reset with each renewal?
A: No. These counts are cumulative and only decrease when items are deleted.
Q: How often are usage metrics updated?
A: Usage counts update continuously as activity happens in your workspace, so what you see should always be up to date.
