Contractbook OCR feature (Smart Reader) enables you to improve your data management process and organize your legal documents with the ability to search for specific keywords, phrases, and sentences in your stored contracts.
Contractbook Smart Reader works in collaboration with our Enhanced Full-Text Search engine, which will allow you to interpret, organize, and sort all your contracts based on a selected combination of data points.
In addition, our Smart Reader can also scan any attachments you upload to your contracts and as a result extract data from them.
How does Contractbook OCR work?
Contractbook OCR, or Smart Reader, implies that once a document is uploaded to your account, it will automatically be scanned. On average it takes only 30 seconds for our system to process a document with this smart feature.
When the Smart Reader is scanning the document you can check the Document OCR status under the info tab (at the right-hand sidebar of the opened document) where it will be defined either as In Progress or Completed:
If it is being processed, a banner will be shown at the top indicating the document is being converted.
Once the OCR has been completed, you will be able to search for specific words, phrases, or entire sentences included in the body of the file, since the extracted text of the uploaded document will be completely searchable:
